Standard Chompies or simply "Chompies" are small round green-coloured, dog-sounding, mutant beasts with long pointed teeth and long eye stalks. They are known to bite everyone and everything. They are the most noticeable and common ones found in all of the Skylands with their bright green colour and have a Life Element role. They also have armoured counterparts called Armored Chompies.

Trivia

• One particular Chompy in Trap Team, is much bigger than all the others, and is a trappible villain. He is found in the Mirror of Mystery.
• In Skylanders: Giants they have armored counterparts.
• In Swap Force, they have a different look and design.
• In the Skystones games in Skylanders: Giants, the Elemental role on their skystone image is Earth, instead of the Life Element which they mostly are, including the trappable Chompy.
  • This is similar to how the playable Hood Sickle villain in Skylanders: Imaginators uses the Dark Element, rather than the Undead Element, which the Hood Sickle enemies use in Skylanders: Trap-Team.
